Cup 10: Ubuntu

What if there were a word for the way that a cell is part of the heart, or the heart a part of a body?

A word to describe how a body relates to a person, or a person to a family, a community, a people?

The people’s place in the planet, the planet embedded in the solar system, the solar system in the galaxy, the galaxy in the universe.

What is the word for the mystery enfolding the universe?

We have such a word, the Bantu language word “Ubuntu”: I am because we are.

The “we” that is beyond naming is the wellspring of the sacred.
